Why the Markthal matters
A food market with a roof of apartments
A giant horseshoe of homes arched over a market floor, opened in 2014 and instantly the symbol of the new Rotterdam. Under the artwork ceiling you can eat the entire Dutch canon: aged cheese, fresh stroopwafels, herring if you dare.
